I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Maryland, College Park in the Computer Science department. I am being advised by Prof. Yiannis Aloimonos and Dr. Cornelia Fermüller. My area of research is dexterous grasping using the high degree-of-freedom Shadow Dexterous Hand, equipped with the BioTac SP tactile sensors. I aim to develop new control algorithms for the Hand, for grasping objects of varied shapes, sizes, materials and weights using tactile feedback. I am also working on a tight integration between computer vision based perception and tactile perception, to develop a generic approach to robotic grasping.
