Kaitlyn Devalk

I choose the UMD Computer Science program for its emphasis on research and its collaboration with the Maryland Cybersecurity Center. I chose the Computer Science field of study, over something such as Cybersecurity, since programming and software development have always been a passion of mine but never something I was able to formally study. I'm interested in cybersecurity and data visualization research. I will head back to active duty post-graduation and continue working in cybersecurity. I went to the Coast Guard Academy for my undergraduate and have been working for 2 years in the cybersecurity field, specializing in the penetration testing area.
