   I think it would be crazy to allow word tearing. It makes no sense from a
semantic perspective. It is implementation rearing its ugly head, and it's not
necessary. It would be penny wise and pound foolish to permit it. It you like
that sort of stuff, program in C. At Transarc, four top-notch engineers once
spent two weeks chasing a word-tearing bug.
