Computer Science Honors Program

CS Honors is the University of Maryland's Computer Science departmental honors program. Comprising roughly 175 students (less than 5% of our undergraduate majors), this is a prestigious program dedicated to getting students involved in research and creating opportunities for them to engage more with one another and the department as a whole.

CS Honors makes new opportunities available to our Honors students so that they may:

Research

CS Honors students perform research with some of the nation's leading research faculty. Take a look at some of their work.

Engage

By attending research talks, teaching their own classes, and starting new clubs, CS Honors engage more with the department.

Interact

Through independent study and graduate-level courses, CS Honors get more one-on-one interaction with professors.

PhD

CS Honors helps students prepare a strong application for graduate school, and helps them learn if it's the right path for them.
