btw, i threw up after the run today. i know, i'm hardly the most convincing runner on the planet, but i ate so much for breakfast.
professor iPod urlLink notes in a wired magazine review: "But personal stereos reflect a cultural drift. " (the reason *why* any kind of music revolution will not affect cultural drift in asia is, i believe, equal parts due to asian culture and global music distribution. ) i am reading this urlLink article on clarence darrow, easily the most eloquent lawyer in the world.
damn, what a fine one too. he brought philosophy to the courts. this is a man who pusehd blame to the skies and the stars, and poked at religion whenever he could. and what a fine agnostic. on the scopes trial, he blighted the whole of religion in a heated rant and got the judge to ban eight darwin theorists from testifying in court, and then requested for long-time bible expert and prosecutor (! ) jennings as a defense witness, only to shoot down his (extreme, if you ask me) christian beliefs.
(mostly. ) jennings died six days after the end of the trial. by the way, darwin became an agnostic (although i believe it's towards extreme atheism) towards the end of his life, but his wife and children tried to protect his public image as a christian until his eventual death. SAT scores came in the mail today. fyi, kee wen and i were among the 25 000 who took the examination at singapore expo on the twenty-fourth of last month. mail on time. fairly impressed. my SAT scores read: 780 verbal 600 math. yes, 600. i had 1/3 of my arithmetic questions wrong. please don't rub it in. i know y will butcher my score when she takes a re-test this year (her 750 V 550 M test was taken last year). i know i like to make silly excuses for every failure, but trust me, a test that ends three to four hours late does not help to defray one's virgin test nerves.
and i know my bladder was on the brink of bursting for half the test. ah, okay, i have a headache. sunspots. bye.
