i'm reading several excellent jack london books, including one i've read before, "call of the wild". of course, one cannot fathom why maud and humphrey build separate huts (they're lovers). another that i'm looking forward to is the iron heel, the precursor to orwell's 1984. also on the cards, several ambrose bierce books from gutenberg. ambrose pierce is that guy who wrote the devil's dictionary (see dict.org to access), and as the name implies, the entry for "christian" reads: One who believes that the New Testament is a divinely inspired book admirably suited to the spiritual needs of his neighbor.
One who follows the teachings of Christ in so far as they are not inconsistent with a life of sin. on idiots, he writes: "And after the rest of us shall have retired for the night of eternal oblivion he will sit up to write a history of human civilization. " fucking cool fella. time for dinner, bye.
