  I went to watch urlLink The Day After Tomorrow with Kenn and Joseph. (GR excused himself to bye his parents off to LA... apparently, Kenn's dad is captaining this flight! ) It's a fun movie, yes, but utterly mediocre. Your typical American movie, really, all action, zero character development, over-simple plot.
But you gotta love the special effects. Let's ignore the thing that half of America squeeze into Mexico and live fairly happily in spite of losing all their money and land. NYT says it right: "The glacierization of half of the world's inhabited land is contemplated with barely a hint of horror. In fact, it looks kind of cool. " It could have been redeemed if the main characters perished. You know, like in Orwell's 1984.
