The Observer urlLink on Luiz Felipe "Big Phil" Scolari, Portugal coach: "All of Portugal is watching the 56-year-old who again stares at failure on an epic scale. So far in his career, he has thrived on such occasions. " I'm not banking on Portugal to win, mind you - but I'd really like Portugal to win this one. If they don't, I'll blame the lack of breadth of talent, etc. (Which isn't quite true. ) But if they do, you heard it here first, Big Phil has worked unlikely magic again. He has now booted Spain out of Euro, and it isn't as if they had a bad match against Portugal. Far from it.
England - oh wait, they can't string 10 passes between them. I guess that's why I'll be a mad, raving, drooling England fan at one of our local cinemas in the dead of the night. Like a plasticine screwdriver, goes an almost obvious but reeking of plain genius simile from a Guardian feature, Singaporean "soccer" fans aren't always the sharpest tools in the box. I'm off for breakfast now. Good luck.
