some quotes: the local actress embroiled in the slimming pill saga (on tv a while ago): "...it's been a wonderful game".
(not to mention, she was gushing away over her new million dollar windfall. but, ma'am, the battle's just started...) cy on lynette, who met her with a boyfriend and a new attitude to boot: "it pounds my heart to pity her, but it costs nothing to envy her pennies. " (new boyfriend = gold mine. it sounds offensive, i know. maybe she meant something else.
) gw bush in a dramatic turnaround: "saddam hussein deceived the world. " (that adds a word to his vocabulary. ) and... and... i just hate this biology business. why can't bio be more like social studies / history: four lines of obviousness + two lines conclusion and clinch something like full marks.
which is exactly my kind. mr foo said that the MOE sends our school some letters every year because there is large grade differences between our school's preliminary examination marks for every bloody department in this graveyard except the china one (maybe they speak a different language and work differently) and the o level marks: they already get miffed when the school standard is 2 grades higher than the o levels. and guess what: for the past five years we've been 3 to 4 grades worse for physics in the prelims than our normal o level standards.
and now our school is now making us solve logarithmic equations for the end of the year physics paper. good luck if you're from maris stella, i guess. ah. ok. have to work at cardiac graphs. ms fong stole the last 3 days of revision to teach a topic she thinks will come out right on our damn year just because it came out for ONE mcq question in the last ten years. good call...
