  urlLink Spymac :: News : "Toshiba paves the way for 60GB iPod 06/02/2004 08:23 | By Michael Simon  According to Infoworld, reporting from the Computex 2004 exhibition in Taipei, Toshiba Corp. is 'planning to launch a 60GB version of its 1.8-inch disk drive,' and, more importantly, 'has already found a customer in Apple Computer Corp.' Ahead of the launch, Toshiba has been showing the drive to customers and has already received an order from Apple, Lee said. Toshiba is currently shipping 350,000 of the 1.8-inch drives per month to Apple for use in the iPod. ' Toshiba said it has been 'seeing a large amount of interest in the drive from companies looking to produce similar portable digital music players or more advanced devices that can also play video.
' The drive is expected to enter mass-production during July or August. " Ok thats a lot of space for your music. and very very very tiny in the world of hard drives. I just hope they can keep up with demand, even if they plan to ship out 350000 of the hard drives. Pretty amazing the advancements in computers. Used to fill a room, now can fill your lap.
