Damnit I lost another post but this time due to my fat fingers hitting the wrong combination of keys. So I will repeat even more quickly what I tried to say. The ad that has people in a tizzy seems a little off to me. The ads that Moveon.org has chosen to be finalists are all excellent and very well done but some lack perhaps the shine of proffessionalism...although again they are great and very slick in their own right. This Bush/Hitler ad though takes it to a slightly higher production level and looks a little more pollished than the others...had it not had the message that it did and was going on technical merrit it would certainly be one of the better ads submitted because of its production value. Now I am not saying that the RNC planted the ad, however if it came out down the road that it was a plant it would not surprise me. That kind of tactic is well withing the realms of possibility for the RNC as they have nothing better than that.
The lie and manipulate and the only hopes for them to retain control requires them to deligitimise their opposition and this ad certainly helps tarnish Moveon.org's sheen up to this point. Moveon.org should activily persue the producer of the video and if indeed it was a plant then they need to raise holy hell over it all. If it was a genuine ad from someone they need to know that as well and perhaps have the author defend his position or offer his view.
Moveon.org just needs to do it to help wipe the oil off so that they don't get bogged down and labled as another "bunch of crackpots". The only way that I can see that they can do it is to out the author and then react appropriately. Now I read an interesting article over at Commondreams.org on the DLC and the DNC showing the internal power struggle at the national level DNC. It is a good read and you should all give it a few minutes of your time. Interesting article that is worth the read to gain an insider view.
So today has been a whirlwind for everyone. It is just good that debate is pushing forward and we are all starting to see some honest discussion come out of it. Also I saw Nader on Crossfire and he really stuck it to Novak shoving shit right back at his fat ass. I don't think Novak knew what to do...which was just nice because he didn't let Novak run him over and indeed challenged him to debate or discussion. As usual Novak backed down once Nader got started. Nader basically came out and said while he supports most closely Kucinich but ceeded that he would support any of the Dems to come out on top and fight for them because the goal is simply to get George W. Bush out of office regardless of who it is that replaces him even if it is a wishy washy Dem unlike Kucinich of Dean.
So it was interesting to see. Well I am going to rest my head for a bit...I will probably write a little later. Peace
