pressure drop is on the air My name is Chris. This is my blog. It will probably focus mostly on music.
CD reviews, my opinions on particular artists, my thoughts on recent concerts I've attended, blah blah blah. I will occasionally veer off into other areas too. Film-related comments will appear frequently as well, and maybe opinions on books I'm reading. I originally began a blog last Friday but, due to my complete incompetence in the areas of html, it became a disaster and now it's floating around in cyberspace, abandoned and full of inexcusable errors.
Maybe someday I'll clue you all in on the url of that lost site. But not now. I'm still a little sensitive about it.
I spent a good part of the weekend trying to come up with a name for this new site. I also spent a good part of Sunday afternoon revisiting some of my reggae/ska discs and after listening to a compilation of the incomparable Toots and the Maytals, I realized once again that if I had to pick my favorite song in the world (an impossible task that I hope I'll never be forced to undertake), Toots' "Pressure Drop" would be a definite contender. It's not a very long song, it doesn't say anything particularly profound (not that I can tell, anyway), and it's not very complicated -- in fact, it's pretty blatant in its simplicity. But it's got an unmistakable feel to it that makes it impossible to resist. Well, for me, anyway. So it's only fitting that "Pressure Drop" is the name of the place where I ramble. Don't panic.
I don't really know what I'm doing, but that doesn't mean you can't watch the train wreck. I would like to begin my blog journey by giving eternal thanks to Terry, aka urlLink nitpicker. He and I go way back and he gave me sage advice on the subject of weblogs. His site is quite informative and as you can tell by reading it, he's much smarter than me. Enjoy. Stay tuned. Thanks.
