BABY HIT ME ONE MORE TIME! Fear & Loathing in Chicago - Redux Standing in line at Osco Drugs this evening, waiting to pay for my purchase of Whoppers (I had a sudden and rare craving for sweets), a woman in front of me (who had an armful of sundries and a bottle of Jack Daniels while wearing Sony headsets and muttering along to whatever she was listening to) abruptly whirled around and screamed at the top of her lungs, "YOU F*CKING HIT ME ONE MORE TIME AND I'LL KILL YOU!!!
" I was standing two feet from her. The man behind me looked at me and shrugged his shoulders. Crazy Woman continued her rant, her eyes bulging out of her head and a vein in her forehead throbbing. Like I said, Crazy Woman. I'm so tired of this shit happening every time I step foot outside my door. I'm tired of being threatened by the drug and alcohol-addled waste products of humanity who reside in my neighborhood who have become so agressive that when denied a handout of a dollar, will actually follow me down the street, swearing at me. So I responded vehemently (and at a volume of equal decibels) but won't repeat what I said (because I'm a Lady), although it did include whipping out my cell phone for added emphasis, and threatening to call the police.
The crazy woman abruptly shut her pie hole and turned away with a snort and a "HMMMMFFF! " Even more ridiculous and unforgiveable were the two soccer moms and their three teenaged daughters who laughed and said they thought the woman was listening to Brittany Spears. "We though you two knew each other and she was singing "Hit Me One More Time" to you! " (As per usual, the apathetic asshat cashier with bad b.o.
registered no awareness of the incident and muttered my purchase total unintelligibly. ) Tonight's incident is reminiscent of an experience I had one year ago (April 7, 2003) with Crazy Crack Head Woman who assaulted me as I stood on a street corner, claiming I'd cut her off on the sidewalk. (Go urlLink here and scroll down to the entry titled "Fear and Loathing in Chicago". Is it me? I'm seriously getting a complex living in Chicago. I'm the only person I know who seems to experience this much drama just going to the store!
