  VOCABULARY NOTICE Someone recently sent me an email (in response to my first post about urlLink my friend T's illness a few weeks ago) which stated, "Vendela: I think this is extremely inappropriate.
" Today, I heard the word "inappropriate" used (and misused) on three separate occasions (including one person who directed it at a McDonald's cashier for neglecting to remove a pickle from her hamburger. She meant to say "this is unacceptable" but said "inappropriate". ) That is it , people!! Enough misappropriation of the English Language!!! From this point forward, I am instituting a ban on the word "inappropriate" from my vocabulary*.
This term has become overused in the General Public's vernacular and has grown tiresome and banal. When used by an idiot of average intelligence with a limited vocabulary who uses it because they think it makes them sound important, it just comes across as condescending and pretentious. Why, just look at all of the appropriate "inappropriate" urlLink alternatives at one's disposal! (* I'm also doing away with the word "unacceptable"!
)
