MONEY MAKES THE WORLD GO AROUND I'm sitting here, in utter and absolute fascination, watching the 1972 film " urlLink Cabaret " on cable t.v. (Liza Minelli, Joel Gray, Michael York). I've never seen it in its entirety until now. Always an admirer of all things Bob Fosse, I'm marvelling at how his directing and choreography transcends the years... the finger-snapping, the disjointed, herky-jerky, hip-thrusting... The dance and song numbers in "Cabaret" don't seem dated at all. Liza, to her credit, was a hot number back in '72. Who knew she'd become the bloated, drunken, David-Guest-beating freakshow she is now? Damn! (One of my two other favorite Fosse-inspired films are "Sweet Charity" and " urlLink All That Jazz ", starring the outstanding Roy Scheider as Bob in this adaptation of Fosse's career. )
