I'll be sending this essay next week to our Treasury Dept. I'm scheduled to be interviewed on July 17. Nervous and excited at the same time...Can't wait for the day to come. I'm really praying to GOD that i get the position..I pray I do get it...
I have been with our bank for five years now. And I have considered Gatuslao-Bacolod branch as my second home. My branch head, Atty. Henry S. Yap and two junior officers, Arly P. Famoso and Michael Conrad M. Topacio, whom I consider my mentors, have always encouraged us to take on the challenge of becoming officers if an opportunity comes. It has been one of my aspirations to become a bank officer. When I was informed of the opening with the Treasury Desk - Bacolod, I requested for my superiors approval and submitted my application with Maam Bettina Ascalon. My work in the new accounts helped me to understand and deal with all kinds of people and to cater to their different banking needs.
I learned to market and cross-sell our bank products and services. I also gained knowledge in terms of branch operations. The seminars and lectures Ive undergone aided me to better comprehend the job Ive been handling. The entire banking system is very complex. Being assigned to the branch for five years has enabled me to know just a part of what banking is about.
If Ill be given the option to work with the Treasury Department, it will allow me to discover more and better appreciate banking per se. As of now, Im only familiar with a fraction of the treasury transactions. This opening will indeed be a new test for me and make me grow as a person and likewise for my career advancement. C.M.B.E.
