My Ex-Pat Friend From a Canadian, living in America: it's kinda funny to be experiencing this situation from down here - probably because it's the most 'balanced' i've ever heard american media. of course, this is largely due to the angles taken by the seemingly dozens of democratic leadership hopefuls against w. that is to say, a lot of people while happy that saddam has been captured are also asking "so what? " and the related conclusion that "capturing saddam has sadly nothing to do with the weapons of mass destruction that they didn't have" and "we've still really mucked things up in the international community. " realistically, the americans were starving for anything that might redeem this rather vietnam-like scenario, and so the war supporters are trying to bank on this - but even a lot of them aren't playing this up with the usual melodrama.
certainly there will always be hardcore bush fans (insert childish giggle here), but it seems that what group of moderates that do exist down here are thinking that iraq was a bad call made by a unspectacular leader. A bad call indeed. What's the projected US budget deficit this year?
