Oh Lord but it is hot out today Mercy. Gary Benner (Toronto Mayoral Candidate) has added the song "Just the Start" to his long flash intro. If you listen to it, that's actually Benner urlLink playing guitar on the track . MFP scandal aside, I am working on a shitty computer.
400 MHz Pentium 3 processor. I use a GIS program called ArcView, which routinely crashes my computer. I told my boss about it and he kind of laughed at me, and pointed to a co-worker's computer and said "His is even older then yours, and he doesn't complain". Lovely. We have been experiencing a very slow network server recently as well. It took 5 minutes (seriously) to save an 11 MB file to the shared drive here. Any other organization would identify this as a serious problem and acknowledge that it is completely unacceptable. It's a loss of productivity and it's a complete waste of time. But here? It's acceptable; partially because everyone is scared to death about MFP, and partially because the employees in this organization are generally ignorant when it comes to technology. So where other employees might complain, and indicate that a slow server is slowing down productivity, employees in our organization seem to simply take it in stride and work slower. Insert civil service joke here.
