Life in So. Cal. is great and we're having fun getting adjusted and settling in. Last weekend we took the jr. high and high school students to Six Flags Magic Mountain for the day as part of a weekend event called CONVERGE. We spent Friday night at a nearby church with other youth groups and about 400+ youth. Then early Saturday we headed north to the "Mountain" as the kids call it.
On Tuesday we had a surprise visit from my friends from Jamaica. Jim, Penie and their three children are on furlough right now and they are visiting the west coast and several attractions. They called us from Mission Viejo, about an hour north from L.A. so they came and took us out to dinner and hung out.
Then they spent the night at our apartment complex in their RV they are traveling in. On Wednesday they came to the church and I gave them a tour and then Brian and I took them out to lunch. Later that day they took off for their next destination. It was so great to see them and I was thrilled that they were able to meet Brian. Which, by the way, they loved him....I knew they would.
