Well, after this weekend, it's official...Brian is old. Of course that's relative when you figure my age into, regardless. Happy 25th Buddy! I surprised him on Thursday night and we went up to Universal Studios City Walk in Hollywood. We ate at BB King's restaurant/bar and listened to this horrible cover band, but we had fun and it was entertaining to say the least. We walked around to all of the stores and little shops which was fun. VH1 was filming their "Best of '03" show so there were all these she-she made up girls prancing around half clothed and alot of "pretty men" sauntering around in their Ben Sherman shirts and perfectly quafed hair....the whole event seemed very metrosexual in deed.
Then on Friday, Brian's REAL birthday we went to see one of our favorite bands, Copeland, play at the Chain Reaction. The show had been sold out for weeks, but our dear sweet friend, Chad got us in so we hung out with him, Candy and our new friend Scott. Afterwards, we did our due diligence and ate at Denny's with some scenesters and the band. Saturday night we went out with Chad & Candy, Scott, Zack and Mark for Brian's b-day to BJ's Pizza. YUM!!! It's a microbrewery, pizza joint with the best desert ever called a BaZookie! It's a fresh warm chocolate chip cookie, with vanilla bean ice cream on top with hot fudge. Brian got a free one and they put a candle on the top. There were a few table in the back with us full of young kids too so they were all singing and clapping and cheering when it came out.
It was pretty cool and Brian was a good sport even though he usually shys away from that kind of thing. We were going to play miniature golf - (that's what it's called on the West Coast, if you say Putt-Putt people laugh out loud at you and think you're weird....I had to learn this the hard way =( I guess it could be worse....who knew?!?!
) - anyway, we were going to play mini golf, but it was so cold last night...it got down to 35-40 degrees and was really windy.....BRRRRR!, so we decided to go to Chad & Candy's apt. and play cards. This of course was a much better option! So, now it's Sunday and I can't believe that the week is going to start again tomorrow. It's been such a fun week that I hate to see it end. But thankfully it's going to be a short week! We are heading to Pheonix, AZ on Wednesday afternoon to spend Thanksgiving with Chad and Jenny. (not to be confused with Chad and Candy/...both very cool, just two different couples) So we are really looking forward to a break and then December's just right around the corner...I can't believe it. WOW! peace ~
