Today was a wet and rainy day her in the Metro Detroit area. I was not able to do much at work because of the weather so I was able to read several chapters of a Thomas Merton book called, Life and Holiness. I found it laying on a shelf in the Religous Formation office I was cleaning at the catholic church I work as a janitor at right now. It was excellent reading. I have herad Merton cited a lot but have never had a opportunity to read up till know. What I read was very good. I also was able to read / re-read a couple of chapters from the Divine Conspiracy as well. I also was mulling over a post of urlLink Jason Evans that I read last night as well. The gist of what he was saying is that most "spiritual leaders" create community they don't live in it.
That really rang true with me and the last church I was on staff at. I am finding first hand with my family and kingdom friends that community is hard and messy at times but well worth it in the end. As the Ekklesia Project says, "realtionships have power! ".
