Today is the conception birthday for both of my children. My husband has since named this the annual no-sex holiday, just for safe keeping. Interestingly enough, my grandmother conceived both of her children around this same time, so I think I inherited my fertility from her.
I wish the IRS honored conception birthdays. It hurt to enter 1 dependent a few weeks back. Pregnancy is expensive, you should credit for that, too. Instead, I’m tempted to just honor FYs their way. So my son is now FY1 and my daughter is FY0 until January 1, 2004. On political topics, Jay Garner arrived at Baghdad for his first time ever today. Don’t you think the person appointed to lead the nation should have some knowledge of it?
Maybe some cultural experiences or business dealings at least? He hasn’t even bombed the place, which is the traditionally accepted means of experience in this administration. We wonder why the west has always made such a disaster out of nation building attempts! I think I’ll draw a line around the Pashtun, Afghan, Kashmir, and (what’s the I? ) tribes and make a cute anagram out of it with some culturally ubiquitous suffix. Voila! A country is born.
