This is just the funniest thing ever. The Democrats (well, the ones with juevos) of the Texas state senate have absconded to Oklahoma in an attempt to subvert the Tom Delay-redistricting of Texas voting districts. I am elated. It seems somewhere at some point, democrats actually found a spine! The state Republicans accused them of breaking the long record they had set for bipartisan cooperation (that did much to boost Bush’s popularity in the 2000 selection).
I for one am happy to see that record broken. Let’s call a spade a spade: that so-called bipartisan cooperation was just that genteel-style niceness the south is so known for, which is the meanest, cattiest, buttery niceness that comes right before the knife in the back. In other words, it’s passive aggression and it’s a dysfunctional communication skill. I say enough with the middle (or, as long as we’re being honest, the redefined right)! Let’s define some positions and claim back that dichotomy required for an honest debate. When you stand up for your position, you’ll hear a creaking sound and feel a little pain. Don’t worry, that’s your spine straightening out and cracking from going so long without use.
