My stump here for a while has been trying to get people to understand the value of social networks, and how blogging fills that niche so well. Tonight, Gwen blogged about her life before she left her husband. She's said before that blogging saved her life, she started blogging before it was even blogging.
Back in the late nineties, just sending her words out to the virtual information superhighway (remember when people called it that? ) b/c otherwise she was all alone. Finally, enough distance and healing has allowed her to blog more openly about her divorce and the feelings it left in its wake. I think it illustrates the real person behind these screens, and I think it supports my need to validate blogging as a lifeline for women rendered alone by the RW.
Her blog tonight is so brave and open, go read it all. Here's just the highlight: urlLink Gwen's Petty, Judgmental, Evil Thoughts : "Do y'all know what I mean? Can you imagine it? I mean, I'm not saying that we lived in a school bus and God told me to kill my babies with rocks. I'm just saying that it's hard to be alone. It can literally drive you crazy. I'm just saying that it's sad that people can be so lost/trapped alone in an overcrowded world. Nobody wants to build a village that will raise a child. I don't blame them - we're all busy. Every mother has to build her own village, I guess. Good luck, y'all. "
