welcome to the urlLink Blazing Star RV park in San Antonio, if you can call this sprawling burb San Antonio. I have to say that, seeing as San Antonio is actually one of my least favorite places in the whole world to visit (this is saying a lot, since traveling is my favorite hobby), this place isn't that bad. It's made habitable by the wi-fi network broadcasted over the hundreds of pull-through slips. When I was growing up and my parents hauled me all over the country from RV park to RV park, I would have killed for something like this.
Instead, I was that precocious young girl who sat in the hot tub with the old fogies and talked about travels. Most people know about my family and basketball. This is our fifth Final Four (I've personally only been to one, but we all make the pilgrimage if anyone draws tickets from the lottery. Today we're in mourning because my mom's a Duke alum, which makes the family default Duke fans, and Duke lost last night.
To be honest, I was a little glad. Nobody likes a dynasty, and this will make it easier to root for them next year. My brother was rooting for OK State, along with just about every tourist here. And they lost, too! Scalpers are very disappointed because with these two big fan teams' losses, everyone's going back home and ticket prices for the final on Monday are plummeting. John's in Munich, having a great time. He makes me so proud when he travels. He always works hard to speak enough of the language to get around, and he always gets around, appreciating the local culture, food, architecture. He has meetings Monday and Tuesday with ESA. I wish I was with him so bad! We tried, but talk about your pilgrimages!
Easter draws crowds to Rome so thick that every European city within decent train distance was booked and upcharged weeks in advance. In the end, it just wasn't worth the price for all of us to go, we'll try an overseas trip later this year. I'm still hankering for Guatemala...
