I can only express gratitude in response to the obvious signs that the universe seems to be smiling on me this week. It's been building up for a while, but this week is amazing. I just walk around with a smile on my face, that's how reinforcing such a cycle can be!
There are many ways in which things are going well, but the most bloggable is regarding my page ranks. Several weeks ago, my Google page ranks mysteriously increased, resulting in a funny and seemingly random series of search engine-generated site hits. I've always gotten a lot of hits for " urlLink Iron Jawed Angels Soundtrack " and " urlLink Sharon Osbourne adoption ," but now a google search on " urlLink bill cosby speech naacp " returns the SrogBlog as the 19th result, and a search for "bill cosby speech" returns it as the 34th result.
That might not seem like such a big deal to you, but this will. A search on " urlLink jon stuart " yields The Same River Twice as the fifth resulting page hit. If only there's a way to turn this into something? If only I could put out Jon Stuart praises and in return he would help me find a book publisher or get me some network exec's ear! But no. In the new economy, links are the central unit of power. But this currency isn't accepted by the entertainment industry. Anyway, regarding Jon Stuart, congrats on the new baby. Ralph sort of let the cat out of your bag last night, but why keep such an amazing thing under wraps?
Jon, if you read this (b/c we all google ourselves, right? ), go to the SprogBlog for parenting advice, and keep watching for my ebook release of Sustainable Parenting (b/c I can't get a real publisher yet). Speaking of Mr. Stuart and his great wit, perfect timing, and wonderful writing staff on urlLink Comedy Central's the Daily Show , last night Stephen Colbert covered for the newly babied Jon Stuart.
He was really, really funny. It was strange to see him manning the show, but he filled the chair well. I especially enjoyed his interview of urlLink Ralph Nader , considering Colbert is a little more out of the liberal closet than Jon. In the interest of equal time, their jokes regarding the Kerry/Edwards ticket were outstanding. Butt to Butt! Ha!Go watch it if you missed it, their web site is featuring it right now.
