Yesterday I went to the doctor figuring we would make appointments for me to start my iron IV. I was quite surprised when I was being walked over to the Infusion Center to get my test dose and IV. I was there two hours and survived the test dose. There were four nurses with an oxygen tank ready to bring me out of a deadly allergic reaction if I was to have one. I didn't thankfully. But the IV Benadryl and Tylenol were strong enough to make me stay home from class and sleep. I needed it. Now I have to go for the next five weeks, every Wednesday for 6 hours and get my iron IV with the chemo patients. It was a reality I am not prepared for and definitely wasn't yesterday. Life bites...
