I received several comments today on yesterday’s blog. It appears that I have hit both a cord and a nerve with one foul swoop of the pen (or keyboard, as the case may be). My PO!NT for being on a blog is to share and develop my thoughts. I don’t do much day-to-day recaps.
urlLink I’ll leave that to the pro! I’m here to flush out my thoughts, and force myself to wade through the process of finishing one. (I know some of you find that hard to believe. ) It’s a healthy process, and one that I find challenging. I’m currently working on a blog entry that I started back in November. If you notice, I didn’t have a blog back in November. Actually, it’s the “thought” I was wading through that challenged me to find a way to flush it out and share it.
Hence the blog. I’m convinced that most people don’t do enough thought thinking. I know that sounds odd, but follow me on this one. Most people go day-in-and-day-out without finding something new to think about. Each day brings along it’s own set of concerns and priorities, and we focus on managing the affect they have on our life. That’s life. That’s what we do. I think we need to take our thinking one step further. We need to find a new thought to think about, to sort out and figure out.
Our minds need the stimulation. I hope you're getting what I’m saying, and not getting what I’m not saying. I’m not saying we need to carve out hours in our day to philosophize over odd scenario and what-ifs. What I am saying is that we need to recognize new thoughts, and see where they go. I’m also not saying they have to be deep thoughts, or even interesting thoughts.
Sometimes you don’t know what kind of thought it will be until you wade through it. There is no harm in wading through a thought, only to come to the conclusion that it was a boring thought. It’s the exercise that counts. I hope that gets you thinking, and that’s my PO!NT.
