...to see Fahrenheit 9/11. It's a good thing they had a late showing otherwise I would have had to wait three whole days!
This movie is stunning! Michael Moore can really tell a story. This is his best so far. Amazingly, most of the facts were already in my head before seeing the movie. Fahrenheit puts the facts together so that it all makes sense. It opens with the 2000 presidential election and reminds us of what happened, although it seems we all forgot or just accepted it a long time ago.
A good part of the 9/11 reflection is just audio and a black screen. That's where the images in your mind take over. It is a bit comical at some points. How can you not laugh at the Bush administration? Otherwise you'd be crying. I had chills during several segments. A movie hasn't done that to me in a very long time. I hope every American who sees it will be compelled to vote in November.
As it won the Palme dOr (Best Picture) at the Cannes Film Festival this year, seeing it confirmed the award was well deserved. It wasn't just because the French hate the White House. (Funny how they never realized that French fries aren't really French anyway. ) The audience this evening applauded at the end of the movie. I hope a lot of people see this.
