Those of you who know me, know that I could stand to shed a few pounds. I believe the term is "portly. " [Reminds me of a funny urlLink Cheers episode when urlLink Sam Malone is trying score with a lady but the lady has a bit of a fetish and is smitten with barfly urlLink Paul . Sam says "How can this be??? Paul is....Paul is..." Paul interjects emphatically "The term is portly Sam!
I'm portly! "] Yup, I'm portly. I regularly worship at that great white alter in the kitchen. Cindy bought this book on weight loss. I'm embarrassed a little to admit who it's written by. But I am endeavouring to be transparent (remember in-to-me-see? ) so I'll admit that it is written by urlLink Dr.Phil . Believe me, I have not nor could I ever force myself to sit through one of his TV shows. It's nauseating.
However, I somehow forced myself to block the sound of his southern drawl out of my head as I read the urlLink book . Other than being quite repetitive, the book was quite good. It has, at the least, inspired me to set goals and timelines to what my diet and exercise. I want to lose 45 pounds, 2 pounds a week from March 8 to August 16. So far so good. The first three days have actually been pretty easy.
Which is a total switch for me. Normally when I start watching what I eat, it's murder. Hopefully that bodes well for the future. I want this to be a permanent change of mind. The warmer weather inspires me to get out and get some exercise. There is a lot of heart disease and stroke in my mom's family and that worries me a lot. There's a lot of work to do, one day at a time.
