"It is a tidal wave of children who have lost one or more of their parents,"Carol Bellamy, the executive director of the U.N's childrens agency UNICEF, told Reuters. "Fifteen million globally"she says"It has the possibility of destablizing societies quite dramatically".-Patricia Reaney,Reuters. AIDS has tacken a parent or two from 15 million people. 15 million people. It goes without saying it has increased the number of orphans. The 15th International AIDS Conference released a report that stated an estimated 18.4 million children would lose atleast one parent by 2010 to the disease. People are more interested in finding a way to control the disease and finding a cure and I'm not saying they shouldn't be but orphaned children because of Aids are being somewhat neglected and aren't getting as much attnetion they need(and deserve)and that pisses me off.
