I was thinking that, even though life sucks lately (or perhaps because it does), I should write here more often. Still, I really don't want to just sit here and complain to cyber space on a daily basis. Then again, what else is a Blog for? Talking about philosophical conundrums? The meaing of life? Love? Hunger? Ah...who gives a fuck, really?
I don't even run spell check on this thing. (Ok, so I did to figure out how to spell conundrum...) It's not like someone will find this and think, wow, she's a smart chick, I should hire her! Bastards. So I've found a new TV obsession. Yeah, I know, I need to stop getting those...but this one is actually a good show. (then again, so *was* ER...) A British spy series called Spooks (shown here on A&E and BBC America as MI-5). Basically, it is Alias, only more episodic in nature, more polictical and with more gadgets and less guns and violence. I've come to think of it as a cross between Alias and The West Wing. Not that I actually watch Alias, but I've seen an ep or two.
I love Spooks because it pokes fun at Americans. I love it because it's smart, because every character is overflowing with flaws and because they never tell you which is the right side of an argument. Basically, what the West Wing used to be, only with legends, lock picking and bugging. It doesn't hurt that Olga is leaving AMC to join this show, now does it?
Too bad I have to wait till fall for the new epiodes...and even then, they'll be hacked to bits to fit US censors and commercials. Ah well, that's what BitTorrent is for. :) In other exciting TV news: They're encoring Season 1 of Nip/Tuck on FX. ST:DS9 reruns begin April 5th on Spike TV. The end of my AMC addiction is so close I can taste it! (Thanks to the casting director of Spooks and the mysogynistic hack AMC calls a head writer. ) Keen Eddie. :) In other exciting real life news: Dave's being shipped home on the 13th of April. And uh....that's it really....
