I've been on vacation, and got married, etc., etc., but when I got back I sewed up all my pieces. And I really hate it. I made it without the shaping so as not to emphasize my bulges, and followed the size closest to my bust size. It's baggy. And the sleeves! I can't believe how huge and baggy the sleeves are. Now I have some decisions to make. I refuse to just frog the whole thing. I'm thinking of undoing the seams (I did mattress stitch seams) and sewing it together with a yarn more forgiving than the cotton I used. And to make it fit better, I might sew the seams in a little bit (do the shaping I should have to begin with, doh! ) and cut off the excess (like steeking I guess). Then, as far as the sleeves are concerned, I could just take them off and make armhole bands. Or I could do something creative and sew a middle seam down the sleeve to make it less baggy. But I'll probably take the sleeves off, that seems to make more sense. So, ladies - those of you who have had problems - you're not the only ones who find the whole damn thing just not fitted properly.
I really hate to spend so much time on a project and then find out it's probably a bad pattern (for me at least). It's very frustrating. I guess those of you who ended up with a lovely tank are more proficient than I am. But I'm not giving up!
