  There are some news sources that will directly quote colorful language. But I feel that to include words you can't say on broadcast television casually in a news report really detracts from the credibility even of a pretty solid news source. Note Slate's urlLink casual use of the term FUBAR in its reporting today. If you know it's an acronym for F ucked U p B eyond A ll R ecognition, then you know you've read a casual use of the word fuck in your daily news reading. If you don't know the nature of the word FUBAR, you're probably just staring at the screen wondering why it's not in your dictionary. I'm all for casual cussing in daily life; just not in my news. Show some professionalism, eh?
