I've decided that I don't know if I can trust John Edwards. He certainly urlLink made some promises last night , and "Hope is on the way" isn't the worst campaign slogan in the history of campaigns (remember Bush the First's "Read my lips: No new taxes"?
), but I don't feel he's drawn up a plan for fulfilling those promises -- short of removing the tax cuts for the top 2% of Americans. That's not to say I won't be voting Democrat this year, and it's not to say I can't be persuaded that hope is, indeed, on the way, but I'm a bit on the wary side right now. I'm with urlLink Josh Marshall to the extent that I really can't argue with any of the hopeful sentiments.
Edwards certainly spoke well last night, but we knew he was a successful trial lawyer and that he obviously would be well-spoken. It's more a matter for me of wondering if he and Kerry can deliver the hope they promise.
