Kickoff 12 hours of sleep last night, and still no let-up in the sickness. I Googled "viral bronchitis" looking for a possible remedy, and only ended up with the dire warning that the viral infection can take weeks to disappear, and symptoms may remain for up to 3 weeks afterwards. The condition is so lengthy that "acute bronchitis" includes anything up to 3 months! 3 freakin' months?!@?! That's really stressing the definition of acute. No go on the remedy, but I already knew that. Anybody who found a cure for a viral infection would probably be receiving their Nobel prize right about now, not commenting on a WebMd message board.
Now Spinning urlLink Ballads, Blues & Bey by Andy Bey My first exposure to Andy Bey, who is experiencing a by-all-accounts well deserved resurgence in the jazz world. I love listening to this album, his voice is so singular and his phrasing so damn bluesy. Not revolutionary music, but sure to charm the pants off any reasonably sophisticated potential paramour.
urlLink Already Dead by Denis Johnson Subtitled "A California Gothic", and he ain't kidding. As Gothic as it gets, I'm only 100 pages in and already I need to double down on the sunshine and puppy dogs to lift myself out of the emotional mire. Dark as can be, and I've yet to meet a realistic female character, which tends to be my problem with almost all fiction. Maybe I should start reading more female authors. Feel free to suggest.
