Do you know who I hate? People who send out snotty emails, implying that I'm an idiot and copying everyone on the planet. It's very passive aggressive. Of course, I've actually had meetings with this person where they've been actively hostile, so why I am suprised? Well, here is the response that I wish I could have sent (Warning: I'm tired and cranky today, so you're going to get a glimpse of my dark side): Dear M, I helped develop the Company X reporting. I know what it can and cannot do. Really, that's why the phrase "e-business development" is in my title. So, when I reply to your email and explain that the information you are looking for will not show up in the Y report because of the way that Company X takes that type of order, do not send out an email and cc: half the company telling me I don't know what I'm talking about. Because you know what, bitch? I do. And what's more, you are WRONG and I am RIGHT. In fact, I'm so right, I'm doing an "I'm right" dance in my office right now.
If you can pull your head out of your ass long enough, stop by, and I'll explain it to you. Again. This time I'll use smaller words. Bite me, Hilldery See, now I feel better and I can let this go. Blogging is so therapeutic. P.S. -- I just read this over and feel I must specify -- I would never actually say something like this to anyone.
I'm not that mean. It's just the reaction I had in my head upon reading the email from "M" that was very deliberately trying to make me look bad in front of other people. That type of behavior would infuriate me even if I had given "M" bad information.
