  To keep naming my posts, chapter two, three, four, etc. is boring. nbsp; I am going to have to think of something better.
 I am bored again, so I figured I would get back on here and do some more writing.
nbsp;
 So that people can better understand things from my first post, and from my sister's blog, I am going to write some about recent dating experiences. In the last year, I have been stood up or not called back more times than I want to try to count.
nbsp;
 My self-
esteem has really taken a beating from it.
nbsp;
 I keep telling myself, it's not me, it's them, but after it happening again and again, you have to start wondering. The first time I was ever stood up was by a guy named Joe.
nbsp;
 We knew each other in college, but lost touch after I graduated.
nbsp;
 On one of my return trips from&
nbsp;
Chicago last year I ran into him in O'Hare Airport, of all places.
nbsp;
 He was living in Minneapolis at the time and was on his way to WV for a visit.
nbsp;
 By chance, we were on the same flight, seated next to one another.
nbsp;
 So, while we waited we went and got a drink and started catching up on old times.
nbsp;
 Through the entire flight we talked, laughed, and just really enjoyed each other.
nbsp;
 He asked me out for that night, but I was pooped, so I turned him down.
nbsp;
 We did get together the next night though, and had a great time.
nbsp;
 I was hesitant to go out with him because he still had that frat boy attitude, and I had enough of that in college to last me a lifetime.
nbsp;
 But, we were having fun, so I figured, hey, it was something to do.
nbsp;
 We made plans for the next night also, 7: 00, since he was leaving in a couple of days to head back to Minneapolis.
nbsp;
 Well,
 7:
00 comes and goes, with no Joe.
nbsp;
 About 10: 30 I get a phone call from him.
nbsp;
 His excuse, " I was riding around with my friend in his cop car.
nbsp;
 Of course, I asked him why he couldn't have called earlier, but he had no answer.
nbsp;
 He begged to come on over, but I had no want to see him, so I wouldn't let him.
nbsp;
 Plus, I know a booty call when I see one, and he wasn't about to get to go there!
nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;
 What really sucked the most about it, more than being stood up, was that fact that I was stood up by a guy I didn't even really want to be going out with.
nbsp;
 I gave him the chance to prove he was a guy I wanted and he blew it.
nbsp;
 In his defense, he did call again and apologize.
nbsp;
 But,
 the trust was gone. Frank, from a previous post, happened just a couple months after that.
nbsp;
 It was then that I turned to online dating.
nbsp;
 Almost immediately after I posted my profile, Toby e- mailed me.
nbsp;
 We had a lot in common and never lagged for something to talk about.
nbsp;
 We eventually moved on to phone calls, and finally decided to meet.
nbsp;
 We went to Sohos for dinner, and from what I could tell, things went really well.
nbsp;
 Afterwards he walked me to my car, told me that he had a wonderful time, and would love to see me again.
nbsp;
 I agreed, so he asked if he could&
nbsp;
cook me dinner at his place.
nbsp;
 He knew I was leaving for Chicago in a couple of days,
 so I figured I would get a phone call before I left.
nbsp;
 I didn't, but really didn't think much about it.
nbsp;
 When I returned, I called him to let him know I was back in town, but he never returned my call.
nbsp;
 Now, it wasn't like I was gone for a month and tried to rekindle something- I was gone for a week.
nbsp;
 Surely in that amount of time he didn't forget about making plans with me.
nbsp;
 I saw him online a few times, even said hi once, but again, nothing.
 So,
 by this point I am really fed up with dating and declare that I am&
nbsp;
giving it up for good.
nbsp;
 Not that this was the first, nor I am sure the last time I will ever declare that.
nbsp;
 And of course, it didn't stick- I swear I am a glutton for punishment.
nbsp;
 : My neighbor, Kathy, decided that&
nbsp;
she wanted to fix me up with someone.
nbsp;
 So,
 her husband, Rick, and her look around for a decent single guy, and find out that he works with one, Bill.
nbsp;
 Bill has just recently graduated pharmacy school and started working with Rick, so they didn't know each other very well, but both Rick and Kathy thought he seemed like a really nice guy- tall, nice looking, single, and he had a good future ahead of him.
nbsp;
 Since this was set-
up,
 we decide to double date, just to try to make things more comfortable.
nbsp;
 I get ready, head over to Kathy's, where we are to meet, and sit, waiting, with Bill a no- show.
nbsp;
 We try to call him, but no luck.
nbsp;
 So,
 we fixed ourselves a drink, sat back, and started discussing how I could possibly have this much bad luck with men.
nbsp;
 Hell, this one hadn't even met me and he decided to stand me up!
nbsp;
 Finally, about an hour or so after he was supposed to be there,
 we get a call.
nbsp;
 He had gotten lost in St. Albans and, rather than use his cell or stop by a pay phone, he turned around and went home before he called.
nbsp;
 He said he got " pissed" when he couldn't find us and just went home.
nbsp;
 Okay, you big baby, stop and ask for directions.
nbsp;
 Well,
 we were still hungry and Kathy was doing the talking, so she made plans for us to meet at the restaurant.
nbsp;
 I was no longer excited by this point, but agreed to go anyways.
nbsp;
 We get there, and the guy is already drunk.
nbsp;
 Our dinner conversation includes that fact that he hates dogs, likes strippers, and his ultimate goal in life is to open a Hooters franchise.
nbsp;
 I just want the evening to end, but he is so drunk that we can't let him drive home.
nbsp;
 So,
 he comes back to Kathy's with us and the disastrous evening continues.
nbsp;
 Finally,
 it is time to come home and I get up to leave.
nbsp;
 He got up to walk me home,
 which is only a couple of houses away, and I tried to keep him from doing so.
nbsp;
 With insistence, I allow him to go as far as Kathy's driveway with me.
nbsp;
 He asks if I am really single, which of course I was or I wouldn't have been there, and asks if he can call me.
nbsp;
 I contemplated that for a moment and decided to give him a second chance, so I told him sure, to go ahead and call.
nbsp;
 After all, the evening had got off to a horrible start,
 so maybe under different circumstances, things would be better.
nbsp;
 Though I am sure you can guess that he never did call, I feel the need to go ahead and put it down.
nbsp;
 This was the only time that I can remember telling a guy to call me that I was sort of relieved when he didn't.
nbsp;
 But,
 it still sucks.
nbsp;
 I&
nbsp;
made it as clear as possible that I wasn't really interested by not letting him walk me home.
nbsp;
 Why go through the bother of asking if he had no intentions of calling?
nbsp;
 Well,
 I am starting to get hungry, so I think I am going to go find some dinner.
nbsp;
