These many years gone by Watching time slipping past And remembering those fragile moments Those fleeting flashes of joy Laughter like tiny shards of melodic glass Carried through winter winds As we played and carried on Building our igloos,
throwing our snowballs Making angels in the snow Myriad lights that glimmered blue Sharp cold air whipping away our breath We were children, you and I, Lost in the forever That our young minds created of those days Mittens and scarves binding hands and cheek Happiness wrapped 'round as Snug as any winter coat Knowing that we would have forever To be children,
to be brother and sister Giggling as we endowed a snowwoman And these many winters later Watching the snow drift down Icicles hanging low, the ivory teeth of my pain I look out and see the children See the snowmen The igloos The laughter and youth And I see them making their angels Through a haze of sorrow And I think of you And wonder Do angels cry, too?
