It came into the library Thursday. I was dreading it. I hate seeing valuable library budget money spent on trash. But, I recall my professors in library school touting the public librarians' theme song, "Give Them What They Want".
Apparently they want it because we had about 12 reserves placed on it already. You have no idea how hard it was to not classify that book in fiction. Then I had to wrestle it from the hands of our 78-year-old Library Board President who stopped by to see me. He saw it sitting on my desk and wanted to cross the "F" out of the title ( My Life ). Then he wanted to draw horns on Mr. Bill.
I was SSSOOOOO tempted to let him, but that would be defacing library property. I hate being caught between personal feelings and professional ethics. Damn.
