  To do all these you need to run Registry Edit. To do this go to Run then type in "regedit" NOTE: I cannot be held responsible if these edits and all others posted provide negative effects for your computer. Homepage Lock: Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft Right-click the Microsoft key folder, click New, and choose Key. Name it Internet Explorer. Right-click the Internet Explorer key folder, click New, and choose Key. Name it Control Panel.
Right-click the Control Panel key folder and choose "new DWORD value" Rename the value "Homepage. " Right-click the Homepage value, choose Modify, and change the value from "0" to "1". Add Administrator to Normal Windows log on: Naviagte to: HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList Right-click on the UserList key folder and choose "New DWORD value" Rename the value "Administrator" Right-click the Administrator value, choose Modify, and change the value from "0" to "1". Close programs not responding at shutdown: For all users Navigate to: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop Right-click on the Desktop key folder and choose "New String Value" Rename this value "AutoEndTasks" Right-click on the AutoEndTasks value, choose Modify and change the value from "0" to "1". For individual users Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop Right-click on the Desktop key folder and choose "New String Value" Rename this value "AutoEndTasks" Right-click on the AutoEndTasks value, choose Modify and change the value from "0" to "1". To back up you registry follow these easy steps: (XP only) 1.
Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Backup. 2. Click Advanced Mode. 3. On the Welcome tab, click the Backup Wizard (Advanced) button. 4.
Click Next. 5. Select Only back up the System State data, and then click next. 6. Click the Browse button. 7.
Click Cancel if the "Insert Disk" warning message pops up. 8. In the Save As dialog box, choose a location to save your registry back up. 9. Click Save. 10.
Click Next. 11. Review the information in this window. Your Contents should say "Back up only the system state. " Click Finish. 12. When the back up completes click Close.
