I really enjoy a good record show, but, ultimately, any way you slice it, in terms of audio quality and durability, vinyl cannot stand up to CD. With every play on a turntable vinyl degrades. Not so with digital AND the audio quality is just plain more transparent. Do an A/B comparison: take your favorite LP and compare it to the CD. It's quieter (less extraneous hiss) and cleaner. I hear things on CD that I have not heard in a thousand listens of vinyl. It is the nature of the medium. Please feel free to refute me.
