I got a conditional approval from a lender on LendingTree. yeek! I have no idea what is conditional about it, tho. It doesn't say. I haven't called them yet, and I'm not sure that I will. I did, however, call my mom's finance lady. She's got a good line on grant and first time buyer programs, and since Mom already has a relationship with her, I feel that she won't steer me wrong. I didn't call her first, because if I got a resounding NO then it seemed like it would be less humiliating if it were from some random internet site than from someone that my mom works with all the time.
Right now, I'm just trying to keep from getting my hopes up too much. If this doesn't work out, it will all still be ok. I can just stay in my apartment for another year, clean up the credit and then try again. Or something. I have found a really cute house, tho. At least, cute in the pictures on the internet. I need to drive by it. John's coming over on Saturday so that we can do that. (The neighborhood has a great potential to be very scary, which is inherent in my price range, and I don't want to go alone. ) He's also bringing steaks and the grill. It's going to be supremely ironic if we wind up buying houses in the same neighborhood.
Somebody closed the blinds in my office last night. I didn't leave here until after 6 pee em. Who could have done that? And why? It's really annoying because they're really long and heavy, and a complete pain in the ass to get back the way I want them. Rude.
