First, please see the my general message about seminars
here, if you are a M.Tech student
and here,
if you are a B.Tech student or a DD student.
For students starting in 2006 here is what I have
- Video: Retrieval, Summarization.
Categorize a news clippet automatically into (say) headline, news,
business, sports, weather, life tip. Too easy? Take a movie
and categorize into action, comedy ... Too easy?
Talk to Nithya and
Aman.
- Point based graphics, animation, and rendering.
Talk to Rhushabh and
Ankit. (There is not much on Rhushabh's web site at the moment.)
- Augmented Reality: Image Based Relighting
Take an image. Any one. Now insert a shiny coffee cup into the
image. The scene in the image should be reflected in the cup.
Talk to Biswarup
- GPU: Techniques for GPGPU
A GPU like nvidia 6800 is about as expensive as a CPU. And it
contains more transistors. Certainly FAR more GFLOPS. Why? And how
to use these flops? visit gpgpu.org
Talk to Prekshu and
talk to Anand
and Deepali Singla.
- Motion Capture Reuse
The best way to do animation swiftly today.
Talk to Appu and
Lakulish
- Projector Camera Systems
Automatically remove shadows using two projectors independent of where
the speaker is standing (typically infront of the projector which is
NOT ceiling mounted).
Talk to Shyam
- Biomedical Informatics
Mining bio signals. Multifractals.
Talk to Ani
- Web-based Images
This seminar is about the latest techniques in combatting spam since
image spams are on the rise. Also about captcha (see wikipedia).
I plan to have only 2 out of the six topics above. Main idea in
listing more topics is to give some sort of feeling on what I am doing
with my other students.
Project/miniproject allocation is expected to happen next semester
only. However, it is too late if you don't take my seminar this sem
and course next sem. Department does not object if students decide
early -- therefore I strongly recommend that you take my seminar and
my class if you are going to work with me.
Interested?: Please call me at 7726. If I pick up, you can swing by
immediately in most cases.
