My general research interests are in social networks, trust, web science, artificial intelligence, and human computer interaction. I do work in each of those areas independently, but focus mainly on projects where they intersect. The theme of my research is to leverage social information to build intelligent interfaces and improve information access.

Current projects include studying trust-based recommender systems and provenance systems. I am beginning a new project that integrates all of my research interests behind building community information systems for disaster and emergency response.
