Policy Regarding Open and Closed Assignments

In this course we have two kinds of assignments: homework exercises, and projects. They can be classified as open or closed. The guidelines for open and closed assignments is provided below.

Closed Assignment

• You must complete the project/homework by yourself.
• Assistance can only be provided by the teaching assistant (TA) and/or instructors.
• You must not look at other students' code.
• You must not submit another student's code (all or in part) as yours.

Open Assignment

• You should try as much as possible to complete the project/homework by yourself.
• Assistance can be provided by the teaching assistant (TA), instructor, or students in the course.
• You must not look at other students' code.
• You must not submit another student's code (all or in part) as yours.
