Announcements Any important announcements related to the course will be posted in this page. We recommend that you check this page often (at least once a day). More recent postings appear at the top of the page. Aug-3-04: Last day of office hours (Instructor's and TA's) will be this Thursday Aug 5. There will be no office hours on Friday Aug 6. Aug-3-04: If you have any concerns about any of the grades you have received you must see your TA tomorrow Wednesday during his office hours. After Wednesday, we will not be able to process any concern except those dealing with HW#8 (which we will grade on Thursday). July-29-04: Homework #8 posted. This homework is due next Wednesday Aug 4. July 27-04: FINAL EXAM Information regarding the final exam can be found in the schedule section of the class web page. The exam will start at 8:50 am on the scheduled day. We will not have any office hours on the day of the final. The last office hours will be on Thursday August 5. July 22-04: If you have any concern about any graded material you must discuss this matter with the TA on Monday after the lab. After Monday I will assume all the grades we have in the system are correct and no regrades claims will be accepted. Remember to check your grades by using the online grades system. July-22-04: My office hours for Monday July 26 are cancelled. July-22-04: Use the compareTo method of the String class in order to compare string objects (so you sort the strings). You can read an description of this method in the textbook on page 152. July-12-04: Your second midterm will be on Monday July 19, 2004. The list of topics can be found in the schedule section of the course web page. July-08-04: The CVS server has been experiencing problems. If you cannot checkout a homework or submit one then wait until later in the day. If you have not been able to submit your homework #4 as a result of the server problem drop me a line (nelsonp@wam.umd.edu). July-08-04: If you have any concerns regarding the grading of Quiz #1 then talk to the TA tomorrow Friday. After tomorrow we will not accept any Quiz #1 regrade requests. July-07-04: Quiz #2 will be this coming Friday July 9, 2004. July-07-04: You have until this Friday July 9, 2004, to submit any regrade requests for homework #3. No regrades will be accepted after Friday. Jun-28-04: Quiz #1 will be this coming Thursday July 1, 2004. The quiz will cover all the material discussed in lecture and lab until (including) the lecture for Wednesday, June 30. The quiz will have a duration of 10 minutes and it is a closed book, closed notebook, no calculator quiz. Jun-24-04: In the Documents section of the class web page you will find a link to a System Design Example. It illustrates how to define use cases for a system. Jun-24-04: I have updated the code snippets for today's lecture. You will now find the modified version of Message, and support classes. Jun-23-04: While accessing your grades online, some of you may have noticed that the weight associated with HW#2 was 1%. This is an error which has been corrected. The weight for each homework is 5%. Jun-23-04: At the end of the Homework#3 description you will find a Clarifications section we just added. Check this section as it presents important information. Jun-15-04: Homework #1 grades have been posted. You can access your grade by selecting the Grades link in the class web page. If you have any questions regarding the grading of your homework then see the TA during his office hours. Jun-10-04: Homework #2 has been posted. Jun-03-04: Homework #1 has been posted. Check the Homework link of the class web page for the link to Homework #1. Jun-02-04: The "Managing Homeworks" link of the Eclipse tutorial has been updated.
