GVIL Facilities

GVIL has state-of-the-art facilities that enable cutting-edge research in graphics and visualization. The laboratory houses personal spaces for its members as well as joint research facilities. Every research associate in the lab has a dedicated high-end Dell workstation with latest-generation 3D graphics capabilities. There are several shared computing resources as well.

GVIL Student Desks

GVIL is equipped with a video-editing suite which includes hardware and software to capture and edit real-time 3D graphics renderings as well as digital and analog video. The lab has a high-end Sony digital camcorder, 3D graphics model banks, and software for 3D modeling, rendering, and animation.

GVIL has a wall-sized multi-projector rear-projection display. This serves as a vehicle for collaborative research as well as research into next-generation displays. The laboratory is on a gigabit ethernet.
