• Two sources for addresses of CS grad schools are The Peterson's Guide and The ACM Graduate Assistantship Directory in the Computer Sciences. If you're an ACM member, ACM will send you a copy of the latter at your request, for free.
• National Science Foundation Fellowships (NSF)
• The Computer Science Reentry Program at UC Berkeley responds to a national need to increase the number and diversity of computer scientists with advanced education. The program prepares high-potential students for graduate study in computer science. It is aimed at women and underrepresented minorities with bachelor's degrees in other fields. The program offers reduced tuition, free tutoring, seminars, prep sessions and opportunities to interact with computer science faculty and graduate students. The program is small and therefore lends itself to group study. Students admitted to the program are expected to complete six to seven rigorous technical courses in math and computer science. Each student is required to take at least one, and at most three technical courses during the semester. Most students in the program work part-time or have other commitments outside of the academic arena. Therefore, most students take up to four semesters to complete the program. • Grants at a Glance (a listing of over 400 awards, fellowships, and scholarships for women at all levels in a wide variety of scientific fields), published by AWIS.
• A major scholarship program for women and minorities is directed by the National Physical Science Consortium. It provides support for 6 years and employment at a major research site during the summers after your senior year in college and your first year in graduate school.
