First-Person Pacman

Adam Bates

Adam was responsibile for Pac-Man and all other mobile Agents, such as Ghosts and Fruit. These agents are divided into 3 classes - Appearances, Behaviors, and Locations. Adam also created the camera handler that was responsible for following Pac-Man through the maze, and the Ghost Factory. Some of the structure and object hierarchy for the game was built off of Adam's previous project for CMSC498M.

Ryan Ashford

Ryan was in charge of most of the non-Agent rendering, including the rendering of the maze itself. Maze objects are built off of a text file, based on a grid of zones which can be assigned various states. Ryan also included optimizations on the maze rendering to improve its performance. Ryan also designed the game's tunnel system, providing an intergral contribution to the Pac-Man experience.

Dariush Samari

Dariush designed a separate Pac-Man level editing program in C#, expanding the playability of the game. He was also responsible for the ASCII level design and the maze setup. He singlehandledly designed all of the audio features using the OpenAL library.

Michael VanDaniker

Michael created all of the graphical interface menus for the game, and much of the game mechanics. The opening menu, which has the option of loading user defined levels, encourages continued play of the game. He also created the intricate in-game user display, the game's point system, and the game's level system. He worked extensively within the Game object. He also designed this site!
